At Nium, our values are woven into the DNA of our global team. “Simply Better Together” doesn’t only mean collaboration and teamwork; it means diversity, inclusion, and equality across all our offices. As we celebrate International Women’s Day, Women’s History Month, and with our support for women’s cricket as the official fintech infrastructure partners of the International Cricket Council, Nium is proud to build an inclusive environment free from gender bias and disparity.

According to research, women represent under 10% of the leadership in fintech as founders and executive board members. We encourage all employers in the payments space to work together to change this outdated narrative. Moreover, female talent, on average, contributes towards 37% of fintech employees–highlighting the need for more conversations and proactive measures to bridge the gender gap.

Women Leaders at Nium

Nium’s women leaders in fintech have been a month-long celebration of unique perspectives, community builders, and game-changers encouraging more female representation in global payments and the ever-evolving financial technology landscape.

Featured guests Sharon Gal Franko, V.P. of Global Partnerships, Christina Hutchinson, V.P. of Business Development- LATAM, and Lisa Sung, V.P. of Business Development and Head of Sales- North Asia, focused their conversations on professional milestones, inclusivity, and industry challenges. They were unanimously in sync over the goals of diversity, inclusivity, and gender equality in the workplace, their contribution towards driving change at Nium, and helping overcome industry challenges:

Christina Hutchinson:

“As a firm believer in the power of mentorship, I practice what I preach. This is done by ensuring I set the tone with the right energy to help foster courage. Additionally, I keep an engaged work environment where we can contribute our talents to deliver results without compromising our authenticity.”

Lisa Sung:

“I believe in the power of networking and the impact it delivers to help break away from outdated norms. I am dedicated to building relationships with peers, mentors, and industry leaders to open doors and make introductions for new female leaders building their careers in fintech.”

Sharon Gal Franko:

“I want all women at Nium to know that I have an open-door policy. I will always make myself available to talk to all my colleagues about anything that concerns them. I will find time in my day to offer advice and support, no matter what, and as I said above, creating meaningful relationships is what makes me truly happy.”
