We are humbled to announce our latest partnership in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) – under the umbrella of Nium’s global CSR program - “Nium Cares” - this time with Instituto Ascendendo Mentes - a local Brazilian non-governmental organization

The charity is led in purpose by transforming the lives of young adults. Instituto Ascendendo Mentes works with volunteers and sponsors to generate opportunities for the young through extended education, mental health care and food security.

We are pleased to play our small part in donating to support the remarkable work that the team at Instituto Ascendendo Mentes champion daily. In 2025, we look forward to hosting a Gala Dinner alongside Instituto Ascendendo Mentes, and some of their other valued partners, to raise awareness for this worthy mission.

Lia Thomazzi Susin, Vice President, Business Development for Latin America expresses, “I was introduced to Instituto Ascendendo Mentes in 2022 through some of the kind-hearted people making a daily difference to our young community. Nina Cardoso, Founder of Instituto Ascendendo Mentes, is a true inspiration who connects, persists and believes in uplifting the young talent of today who will, not too far into the near future, be our leaders, doctors, teachers, entrepreneurs, and artists. I am so proud that Nium is collaborating to nurture Brazilian adolescents, who will shape a more optimistic world for us all."

Navigating the transition into adulthood can be tricky for many teenagers, but especially for those who may not have familial support or may come from disadvantaged communities. The need for additional connectivity and charity was further exacerbated back in May 2024 by flash floods, which resulted in the destruction of many homes and businesses across Brazil.

Nina Cardoso, Founder of Instituto Ascendendo Mentes, comments, “We are honored to welcome Nium to our Instituto Ascendendo Mentes family. Our mission is to give our young people the best possible foot forward in life, and working alongside valued sponsors and partners helps to make this a reality. We do our best to ‘transform the world with affection’, which is our charity slogan, and thank the team at Nium for their part in this journey with us. The donations we receive enable us to build more fulfilled and wholesome lives for our youth, whether that be through schooling, groceries, hygiene products, cleaning staples, furniture, and much, much more.”

Investing in and showing kinship towards local communities is a priority for us here at Nium - with Latin America as a critical business market. Earlier this month, we announced that we would be strengthening its presence in the region by applying for essential licenses, joining key fintech associations, expanding our employee presence, and signing new customers. We have also applied for a Payment Institution License in Brazil, which will enable us to provide payment services. Additionally, we are seeking FX authorization to enhance our foreign exchange transaction capabilities within Brazil and across borders.
